Dr. Timothy Brannan
President

Dr. Timothy Brannan effectively blends seven years private sector experience in the financial services field with seven years experience in higher education as an administrator and academician. Dr. Brannan currently is employed at Central Michigan University as an Associate Professor of Educational Technology in the College of Education and Human Services, Teacher Education and Professional Development department (http://www.tepd.cmich.edu/). He has held positions at Michigan State University as an academic specialist and at Lansing Community College as the Director of Distance Learning and Education Technology. While at Lansing Community College, Dr. Brannan's leadership resulted in the college building the largest "Virtual College" in the Midwest. Enrollments grew over 100% per semester and the college increased the number of virtual degrees and certificates offered from two to sixteen in just two years. In the private sector he served as the director of training and development/training officer for a bank and mortgage corporation. Dr. Brannan is the President of Instructional Technology Services, Inc. (www.myedconnect.com) which provides online credit and non-credit programming for teachers and paraprofessionals nationwide. Dr. Brannan has also served as an integrating technology in workforce development consultant for the Michigan Community College Association and as an education consultant for Clinton County Regional Educational Service Agency. He has experience in union settings and is a member of the Michigan and National Education Association. Dr. Brannan is in his the fourth year on the Board of Trustees at Lansing Community College.

Dr. Brannan authored a chapter for a book on distance education titled "Establishing a Distance Education Program in Higher Education." His research published at Michigan State University was entitled "Learner Interactivity in Higher Education: Comparing Face-to-Face, Hybrid, and Online Instruction" and was also published in Distance Learning, Volume 2, Issue 2 (June 2005). He also authored an article titled "Building and Maintaining an Electronic Campus for PreK-12 Teachers" published by the National Charter School Institute and the Association of School Business Officials International (April 2005). He also was awarded two grants from the Michigan Department of Education for projects titled "Building Capacity in Science Instruction to Improve Achievement" and "Mid-Michigan Mathematics Partnership" totaling over $750,000, infusing technology into the K-12 curriculum. In 2004, Dr. Brannan was chosen for the J.Edwin Towle Distinguished Professorship to explore an overseas study tour in education technology in Ireland. Dr. Brannan holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Scientific and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University, Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University, and Masters of Arts in Communication and Doctor of Philosophy in Extension Education from Michigan State University. Dr. Brannan received the "Master Online Instructor Training" Certificate from Michigan Virtual University in 2000 and is a certified PalmOne Education Training Coordinator. Dr. Brannan is a U.S. Army Reserve veteran with 10 years of military service.

Kimberly Guerrazzi
Director of Learner Services

Kimberly Guerrazzi is the Director of Learner Services for Instructional Technology Services, Inc. She is responsible for the development, administration, support and tracking of learners and management of the impact of multiple learning agendas on our learner populations. She is also charged with working with learning leaders and learning content owners to develop processes and infrastructure to guide the use of professional development to meet specific needs of the learner. The need for tracking of professional development is being driven by the increased requirement for compliance-related training or licensing requirements in certain occupations. Mrs. Guerrazzi's position is designed to support these critical needs of the learners and learning leaders.

Mrs. Guerrazzi has several years of experience in service-oriented and management level positions. She has held positions at Lansing Community College as a Cyber Advisor and Online Learning Service Specialist. Mrs. Guerrazzi worked on a service-related initiative called the 24-7 Rapid Response System to meet the need of growing enrollments of online students at a rate of 100% per semester. The design of the initiative was to respond to students through email within one hour during business hours and six hours on nights and weekends in order to deliver quality, efficient and comprehensive student service assistance all online. Mrs. Guerrazzi also served on the Academic Services Operational Plan committee for the college. The mission of this committee was to review stream-line student services to align with the College's Strategic Plan.

For more than 15 years, Mrs. Guerrazzi has successfully managed and co-owned a family operated full-service restaurant and banquet center. She leads the staff training and development. This is where Mrs. Guerrazzi honed in on a lot of her customer service and team-building skills and built her human resource knowledge base.

Mrs. Guerrazzi is currently working on her Masters in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University. She has additional graduate-level course work from Michigan State University in Labor and Industrial Relations and Organizational Development. She is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor in International Relations, 1998. She also holds a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Legal Assistance through Lansing Community College, 2000. Mrs. Guerrazzi also received "Online Instructor Training" Certificate from the Michigan Virtual University in 2001.

Lori Bogart
Learner Services & Project Specialist

Lori Bogart joined the Instructional Technology Services, Inc. team as a Learner Services & Project Specialist in August, 2007. Mrs. Bogart's primary focus is working with State Associations on continuing education and certification processes. She works closely and collaboratively with the instructional design and development teams in the production of online courses and supplemental materials and actively participates in the development and training of learners to make sure that they meet certification standards.

Additionally, Mrs. Bogart works with learners to insure that they are meeting all of their continuing education requirements. She is responsible for assisting learners enroll, track and report their progress to appropriate management and/or certifying agencies.

Through collaboration with other team members, Mrs. Bogart researches and reviews instructional materials, assists in the development of course materials to insure they are functional, intuitive, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles.

Mrs. Bogart has a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Iowa. This is where she honed in on skills that allow her to address the needs of an individual. Mrs. Bogart uses those skills to assist our learners find appropriate avenues to assist them in their careers and with their educational needs.

She has held a variety of positions with different companies, including insurance companies; a medical records review company, as well as a civil engineering firm. Much of her work with a previous employer was done in the computer department, reviewing, testing and making recommendations on content for end-user success. All of her previous work has given her useful skills for reviewing the instructional modules created by ITS, Inc. Mrs. Bogart lives in DeWitt with her husband and two daughters.

Andy Lockwood
Instructional Developer & Media Specialist

Andy Lockwood entertains a colorful background of multimedia experiences in his working career and his personal education. From video work to creating simulations for our modules, he puts his unique brand of creativity into all his work. In August 2007, Andy brought his individuality and creativity to ITS, Inc. joining the Media and Design department as a Media and Design Assistant. Shooting lectures and instructional videos for ITS, Inc., as well as building the framework for the modules that will contain them, Andy has found a place where he can put all of his years in art-related fields to use. Weaving functionality and creativity, he showcases his personal interest in art and design with his time invested in film and video studies at Lansing Community College. In 2008, Andy graduated Magna Cum Laude from both the Motion Picture Direction and Motion Picture Production programs.

Andy's talents and previous work-experiences include, but are not limited to: cameraman, editor, grip, sound, video producer, creative consultant, set construction, graphic design, set extra, floor director, lighting, and script writing. He has extensive experience working with Final Cut Pro, Avid Express and Adrenaline, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere, iDVD, DVD Studio Pro, Microsoft Office, Lectora, Camtasia as well as a host of other applications on both PC and Macintosh platforms.

Amber Delvecchio
Instructional Developer

Amber Delvecchio joined the ITS, Inc. Team in 2007 as an Instructional Developer. Ms. Delvecchio’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to; conducting research, developing, designing and implementing technology-based instructional modules offered by ITS, Inc. and supporting the marketing and promotion of this company. Ms. Delvecchio is able to lend a unique perspective to designing courses by using her marketing skills to hone in on specific needs of an industry or specific workforce groups. Ms. Delvecchio specializes in the areas of buyer behavior, management, marketing communications and consumer relations.

Ms. Delvecchio is also responsible for the implementation of children’s programs that ITS, Inc. offers through My Education Connection. ITS, Inc. has partnered with Impression 5 Science Center of Lansing, MI, to offer informal science based programs to children. Before her employment with ITS, Inc., Ms. Delvecchio was a Sports Director for Early Impressions. There, she ran sports camps for children that incorporated lesson learning while enjoying sports. Ms. Delvecchio was responsible for the creation of lesson plans, implementation of programming and day-to-day facilitation.

Her educational background includes a Bachelors of Applied Arts in Sport Studies and Marketing from Central Michigan University in May 2007. In her spare time, Ms. Delvecchio loves playing soccer and coaching a 7th grade girls’ soccer team.

Amy N. Bellmore
Instructional Developer

Amy Bellmore joined the ITS, Inc. team in 2005. Mrs. Bellmore's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to; conducting research, developing, designing and implementing technology-based instructional modules offered by ITS, Inc. She is currently working on The New Teacher Series which offers multiple modules that aid beginning teachers in the many challenges and problems that may arise in the first few years of teaching. Additionally, this winter Amy Bellmore is teaching a Junior Engineering LEGO camp and a Video Game Making camp. The rigorous curriculum used in the camps is sponsored by All About Learning. In the Junior Engineering course, Mrs. Bellmore implements weekly lessons that focus on the integration of math, science, engineering and technology. The hands-on workshop allows children to identify, construct, and manipulate different LEGO structures. In the Video Game Making camp, Mrs. Bellmore assists students in the design and modifcation of arcade-style video games. The technology-based course allows students to work with graphic design and animation.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education obtained from Central Michigan University. She currently holds a provisional teaching certificate and her certifications include Elementary K-5 All Subjects (K-8 Self CC) and Early Childhood Education Pre K-K. She is currently working on a MLPP certification through the Ingham ISD. Other qualifications include; extensive education in areas of child development, mathematics, and reading. Other qualifications include the use of technological resources to enhance learning and encourage higher level thinking among students of all ages. Mrs. Bellmore is currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Technology through Central Michigan University.

Angie Vereecke
Instructional Developer

Angie Vereecke joined the Instructional Technology Services, Inc. (ITS, Inc.) team in February of 2007, as an Instructional Developer. Mrs. Vereecke's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to; conducting research, developing, designing and implementing technology-based instructional modules offered by ITS, and supporting the marketing and promotion of this company.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from Central Michigan University in 1999. She currently holds a provisional teaching certificate in the state of Michigan granted in January of 2007. Her certifications include Elementary K-5 All Subjects (K-8 Self CC) with endorsements in mathematics and science. She spent considerable time working for the Capital Area Science and Math Center on a grant focused around mathematics and technology. This grant aimed to improve student achievement by providing area K-8 teachers with professional development workshops surrounding both GLCE mathematics content and the Classroom Performance Systems technology. Other qualifications include; extensive experience within education program development, education program management, and volunteer training and management for science and informal education organizations in Colorado and Arizona.

Nicole M. Holzhausen
Technology Assistant

Nicole Holzhausen joined the Instructional Technology Services, Inc. team as a Technology Assistant in 2007. Mrs. Holzhausen works collaboratively with the instructional design and development teams in the production of online courses and supplemental materials and actively participates in the development and training of learners. Through collaboration with other team members, Mrs. Holzhausen researches and reviews instructional materials, assists in the development of course materials that are functional, intuitive, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles.

She is currently working on her bachelor's degree in elementary education in Michigan State University's Education Department. Her major in elementary education is English and this comes very useful for reviewing the instructional modules created by ITS, Inc. Mrs. Holzhausen has had training that involves technology in the classroom, classroom management, child development in language and infant years, as well as a variety of classes on teacher education. Her qualifications with educating children include; working with kids through a dance studio since 2000, volunteering for many years in classrooms of various grades, and teaching and planning Sunday school classes. Mrs. Holzhausen is, as always, supported by her husband Ben.

Darin J. Southworth
Knowledge Facilitator

Darin Southworth graduated from Michigan State University in 1992 where he majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He completed the Police Academy at Lansing Community College immediately after. He is taking graduate classes thru Michigan State University and Central Michigan University while pursuing an master's degree in Educational Technology. Mr. Southworth is a fourth generation police officer and is proud of his family's law enforcement reputation. His law enforcement experience includes working for two different police agencies, a prosecutor's office and a probation department since 1990. Mr. Southworth is currently a Sergeant with the City of Lansing Police Department in Michigan and has been so employed since 1993. He has worked assignments in undercover narcotics, patrol, background investigations, community policing, detention operations and criminal investigations. Mr. Southworth has been recognized by his agency with a Life Saving Award and Distinguished Service Medals. He has coached a number of youth sports and has been active as a volunteer coach, referee and mentor for the Lansing Police Athletic League. Mr. Southworth has been a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator since 1994. He has attended numerous negotiator conferences and training seminars, including adolescent specific considerations. In June of 2006, Mr. Southworth attended a presentation of the Beslan School Siege in Russia, presented by John Giduck of Archangel Group. He has instructed in three basic negotiator schools and is an Advisory Board Member for Michigan Association of Hostage Negotiators. Mr. Southworth has participated in more than 260 crisis negotiations and more than 50 major incidents. He currently supervises a team of six negotiators. Mr. Southworth has been a Subject Control Instructor & Instructor Trainer since 1996. He is responsible for the planning and implementation of subject control training for all personnel. He supervises a team of eight other instructors. Mr. Southworth has also taught in 21 police academies for Lansing Community College since 1996. In 2004 Southworth launched his own training/consulting business called DJS Tactics & Associates, LLC where he provides high quality police, security and personal safety training. Southworth has conducted several Personal Safety Awareness and Self Defense classes for civilians, educators included. He is happy join forces with Instructional Technology Services, Inc. to offer online training courses for educators and other professionals. He has had the pleasure of listening to Lt. Col. Dave Grossman's presentation of "Bullet Proof Mind." Mr. Southworth has presented to more than 15 groups on the topic of school violence and bullying. He currently sits on a Bullying Task Force for the State of Michigan. He is regarded as an expert in defensive tactics training and police use of force. As a student, teacher, police officer and parent, Southworth has a passion and vested interest in the well being of our schools. He has seen and heard enough of school violence and wants to do more to protect our kids, teachers and communities from school violence predators, regardless of their motivations. Mr. Southworth is married and has two wonderful sons.

Traci L. Ruiz, M.S.
Knowledge Facilitator

Traci Ruiz graduated from Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice in 1992. She attended the Police Academy at Lansing Community College and immediately began work at a large mid-Michigan police department in 1993. She currently holds the rank of Detective. Ruiz returned to Michigan State University and received her Masters Degree for Adult Education in 2000. Since 2000, she has taught in the Criminal Justice Department and police academy of the community college. In her capacity as both a police officer and educator, Mrs. Ruiz has been a part of many school and community functions geared toward the prevention of drug abuse and violence. She has been active as a coach and mentor in the Police Athletic League. As a police officer, Mrs. Ruiz has worked in patrol, community policing, undercover narcotics, prostitution and gambling, recruiting, as well as background and criminal investigations. She has been a subject control instructor with her agency since 2002. In this capacity, she has trained in-service personnel, academy recruits, school security personnel and civilians in defensive tactics. Mrs. Ruiz has added credibility and practicality to this discipline, from a female participant's perspective, by tackling the physical disparities between men and women. Mrs. Ruiz is married and has two children.
